that one friend

i have this one friend...
she can somehow read my heart enough that i only have to tell part of the story, she is so honest and open with her life and how God is working in her, she asks just the right questions to help me grow and still feel loved, and she knows me so well.

the problem is, she moved to uganda this summer. i kept wanting to say, "i wish you were here" but i don't- i'm thrilled (and slightly jealous, in a good way of course) that their journey took them to care for orphans in africa. i'm crazy missing our talks but was sooooo glad to have her here this weekend. i had tears in my eyes half the time she was here. i'm thrilled to tears that she and her husband have begun the adoption process of a little boy named Nico. i was so excited to see her, but i'm saddened by the reason she was here as her mother is dying from cancer.

in every moment with her, i could see Jesus. she told me that her mom read the book Heaven by Randy Alcorn recently, to picture where she would soon be. that's amazing. she told me the story about how God sent Nico to their home and their hearts, and i saw the father heart of God. we shared stories of God at work, through pain and joy, and i saw the beautiful plan of Jesus who is ever transforming us through the work of his Holy Spirit.

i love this girl.
