ridiculous

random post but i want to vent this somewhere. in no particular order, these are equally ridiculous things that you can now become a "fan of" on facebook.

- cuddling
- sour candy
- roller coasters
- Will Smith
- sunshine
- oatmeal
- "it's ok i will do it tomorrow"

really? must we become a fan of these things as though it shapes our identity?

and... you can also become a fan of Jesus on facebook now. if I don't click yes, am I less of a Christ follower?

this is when social networking sites get out of control.

and our 2 local Christian radio stations both have new jingles related to facebook:

1) "we won't send you an email you have to accept or reject, but we'd love to add you as a friend on star..."

2) "no matter your status, we'll uplift and encourage..."

really?

as my sister said to my dad a few weeks ago..

"dad, there's this place we all hang out now called Facebook"

i wonder in 10 years what we'll look back and think about facebook. no more class reunions will be needed, no more wondering what someone looks like or is doing after you haven't seen them in 15 years, no more wishing everyone could see your latest family pictures....

i'm done with my facebook rant.

and i'm still addicted to it.

(but apparently blogger hasn't gotten the memo because the word Facebook is coming up as an unknown word in this blog post spell check)
