Tomorrow, Sept 1, marks the beginning of the muslim fasting month this year. For 30 days, the 1 billion muslims in the world will seek a place of deeper spiritually by fasting from sunrise to sunset. This is one of the 5 pillars (required behaviors) of islam.
My annual prayer guide came in the mail this week, it's one of my favorite envelopes to open each year!

I'm not going to give you all the scoop about what Ramadan is... some of you hear that from me every year. Feel free to email me if you want more info or click on the link at the bottom of this entry.
One friend of mine wrote this about Ramadan, "Muslims believe the doors of heaven are open with no interference from evil during this month…so Allah hears their prayers."
Do we believe that God always hears our prayers? I DO! He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Praise God that we serve a God who always hears our prayers. Oh how I want those 1 billion to know him too!
Rev 5 and 8 describe our prayers as an incense before God. Will you offer up prayers with me for the next 30 days on behalf of these lost people? Will you pray with me that as muslims seek God this month, that they will find HIM and worship HIM in spirit and in truth.
Please check out this link for more info & sign up for the daily emails.

You WILL NOT regret it, every year I get stories of how God is at work around the world and stories of people coming to find truth during this time. If you want to hear some "I Spy" stories, please check it out! You will be reminded of how BIG our God is.
Pray against the fear of islam, and pray for the people- the faces- the hearts of those represented by this mysterious religion that we hear about so often. Remember those people bear the image of our mighty God, pray that they would know him.
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your eyes so I can see
Give me your heart for the ones forgotten
- Brandon Heath (song: Give me your eyes)
There is love that never dies
There is hope for every man
Will we help them understand
Jesus is hope for every man
- Casting Crowns (song: Every Man)
