this article came out on Thursday, announcing that World Relief is coming to town.
some of the comments left by ignorant members of our city have me all fired up
i have a bumper sticker that says,
Darfur Genocide Continues. Now you know. Do something.
that's my philosophy. knowledge gives responsibility. so i'm on a mission to help educate the city of Fort Wayne about refugees- who they are, why they are here, what we can and should do to empower them as members of our community and offer hope to those who have lost so much.
i've been reminded in recent weeks that in the midst of social justice efforts and passions, Christ must be the center. we do this to bring him glory and share the hope of Christ alone among the nations. a fed child means nothing if we have not offered the bread of life. clean water means nothing if they will still thirst for Him who satisfies. God is justice.
so let's give hope that will last.
Romans 5:5
And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
