gopher

i love this city. i'm a golden gopher, it's in my blood.

but i had a startling realization this weekend. i have now lived in fort wayne longer than anywhere in my life. i lived in minnesota for 9 years, including my freshman year of college which i technically lived in fort wayne for most of. i have now lived here a bit more than 9 years, including that same freshman year. whoa, say it isn't so.

for everything there is a season...

and if i hadn't come to or stayed in indiana i would have missed some incredible things. i'm glad God kept me here, in the bustling metropolis of fort wayne. i've told people over the last couple years that i am here because i love what God is doing in this city. he is at work in really exciting ways and i am privileged to be on the ride of my life!

but i miss the cheese curds, and state fair, and lakes everywhere, and not-as-flat-as-indiana terrain, and a whole season of friendships.

to both of my dear homes.... i rejoice in what God had for me during your respective seasons. and i so glad that God is the same here and there. he's the same yesterday, today and forever.

You're the God of this city
You're the King of these people
You're the Lord of this nation

For there is no one like our God
There is no one like our God

Greater things have yet to come
Great things are still to be done
In this city
Greater things are still to come
And greater things are still to be done here

(chris tomlin, "God of this city")

just for fun, here's a minnesota memory...go osseo orioles!
